Jared Leto and co settle label dispute and aim for autumn release
30 Seconds To Mars have revealed details of their forthcoming album.
The follow-up to 2005’s ‘A Beautiful Life’ is set to be released in the US this autumn. This marks the band’s return to EMI Music’s Virgin Recordslabel, with whom they’ve been involved in legal disputes for the past several months.
Jared Leto and company are currently in the studio in Los Angeles recording their third album with producer Flood (U2, Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins). The famed producer said that the band are attempting to take their music in a new direction.
“These guys wanted to move into a different place and that’s always a big challenge,” Flood said in a statement. “They had established themselves very firmly in one arena when Jared first talked to me. It was about trying to make a ‘classic album,’ and that’s by pushing themselves and me to a place that you may not have expected to go, so it requires truth, honesty, and a lot of hard work. Those sorts of things I find very rewarding.”
