Five months after Aaliyah's death, 'More Than A Woman' is at the top spot...

The late R&B star AALIYAH has entered the top of the UK singles chart today (Sunday, January 13) with the single ‘More Than A Woman’.

The posthumous release just managed to hold off dance tune ‘Addicted To Bass’ by Puretone, which climbed from Number 68 last week to Number Two this week. Last year’s eponymous album by Aaliyah, who was killed in a plane crash last August, re-entered the album charts at Number 65.

Last week’s Number one by Daniel Bedingfield is down to Number Three. Other top ten singles entries this week include Dr Dre Featuring Knoc-Turn’al with ‘Bad Intentions’ at Number Four, ‘The Whistle Song (Blow My Whistle Bitch)’ by DJ Aligator Project at Number Five, and ‘It’s Love (Trippin’)’ from Goldtrix presents Andrea Brown at Number Six. So Solid Crew return to the Top 10 in collaboration with Mr Shabz at Number Eight with a version of ‘Haters’.

Outside the Top 10, Jay-Z entered at Number 11 with ‘Girls Girls Girls’ and Nelly Furtado returned with ‘On The Radio (Remember The Days)’ at Number 18. Following the death of drummer Jon Lee, Feeder’s ‘Just A Day’ EP is at Number 21 this week.
