The parents of late R&B star [/a] are suing VIRGIN RECORDS over her death in an aeroplane crash in the Bahamas last summer.

The lawsuit, filed yesterday (May 13) in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges they were negligent in not preventing the crash, claiming the overloaded plane was the wrong one to charter for the trip and that the pilot was unqualified to fly it.

[a] and eight others died when their Cessna plane crashed shortly after take-off on a flight to Miami on August 25. She had been in the Bahamas filming a video for her new single.

The lawsuit also names several video production companies and Blackhawk International Airways, the company that operated the doomed plane. Investigators, currently wrapping up their investigation into the crash, are set to cite pilot error, inexperience and excess weight as the third contributing factors to the crash.

In February, families of two of the other victims sued. Relatives of two hair stylists killed filed wrongful death lawsuits against Virgin and Blackhawk Aviation.
