Swedish group lose out in music category

ABBA‘s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus were beaten to the Music Award at last night’s (February 8) BAFTA ceremony.

The pair were nominated for the film version of ‘Mamma Mia!’, which is based on the songs the pair wrote while they were in the Swedish band.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ triumphed in the category with AR Rahman‘s score.

Other winners on the night include Kate Winslet, who won Best Actress for ‘The Reader’, and Heath Ledger, who posthumously picked up the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as The Joker in Batman film ‘The Dark Knight’.
