Abba museum to open in Stockholm

New shrine to the band will open in 2008

A museum dedicated to ABBA is set to open in Stockholm in 2008.

The museum will feature outfits and instruments used by the band, along with handwritten lyrics.

In a statement, the band said: “It is nice someone feels compelled to take on our musical history.”

It took the organisers – Ulf Westman and wife Ewa Wigenheim- Westman – two years to convince the band that the project was a good idea.

Stockholm major Kristina Axen Olin believes the museum will attract 500,000 people a year.

She added: “We are convinced that this is important both for Stockholm citizens and for marketing the city.”

According to BBC NEWS, the band will donate material for the exhibits, but will not be involved in the project in any other way.
