Rappers team up for late-night US TV appearance
Action Bronson performed his new single ‘Baby Blue’ on the Late Show With David Letterman last night, accompanied by Chance The Rapper. Watch their performance below.
Queens rapper Bronson showcased the Mark Ronson-produced track on the late-night US talk show. The song is the fourth single from Bronson’s new album ‘Mr Wonderful’, released this week.
‘Mr Wonderful’ is Bronson’s first album released on a major label after signing with Atlantic Records. It follows a series of mixtapes, including the ‘Blue Chips’ series, produced by Bronson and production team Party Supplies.
Bronson recently caused a stir by physically throwing a fan offstage during a set in his hometown of New York. The TV appearance had no such disturbances, however, with Bronson bursting into laughter at the end of the song before being applauded by Letterman.
Speaking about his new record to NME last year, Action Bronson commented: “The album is sounding incredible. The whole album is a standout. I don’t care about individual songs, I’m trying to make a complete, classic project. I just do my music uninfluenced by anybody else, or current trends, and it comes together at the end. Nothing needs to have a fucking theme all the time. This is just rap. I’m not trying to make people think I’m some sort of scientific wizard or inspirational poet. Fuck that! It’s just happy, funny, rugged, rough rap.”
Bronson was in the news recently after losing a game of celebrity ping-pong with Justin Bieber. The game took part during the All-Star Ping Pong Tournament, a charity event that raised funds for the American Table Tennis Youth Organisation.
