Fans give verdict on Adele’s Glastonbury headline set

Reaction ranged from 'brilliant' to 'poor'

Fans have reacted to Adele‘s headline set at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

The Tottenham singer closed out the second day of the festival on the Pyramid Stage. It was the first time she has topped the bill at the festival.

The verdict of fans ranged from “brilliant” to “poor”. One fan labelled the headline set as “one of the very best”, while another wrote: “Natural, was just herself & to be honest perfect. Reflects what all society should be true to who you are no matter your status”.

However, one compared the singer to “every club cabaret singer I’ve ever seen”. See fan responses below.

Adele revealed during her set that she agreed to headline Glastonbury while watching Kanye West at last year’s festival.

Ahead of her final song, ‘Someone Like You’, the singer reminisced about watching on from the wings of the Pyramid Stage in 2015.

“I have never been so moved by anything in my life,” she began. “I have dreaded ever being asked to do this festival – not that I thought I would ever be asked to do it.

“I was up there on that platform last year with Emily Eavis watching Kanye, which I thought was amazing, and I have never been so frightened of a crowd that I saw last year. As I was watching it I was like ‘alright, alright, I’ll try and do it’.”
