The comeback single was released on Friday (October 23) and is fans’ first taste of her new album ’25’, due for release in November. As reported, the song has already hit the top spot in 102 countries around the world and broken a Vevo record.

Official Charts Company data shows that ‘Hello’ has already sold in excess of 165,000 combined sales and streams since last week and has been downloaded 156,000 times. Ellie Goulding’s ‘Love Me Like You Do’ is currently the fastest selling single of the year with 173,000 combined sales. Adele is expected to surpass this by the end of the week.

‘Hello’ would become only Adele’s second Number One single on this Friday’s Official Singles Chart, with her first coming 2011 when ‘Someone Like You’ spent five weeks at the top.

Adele’s return meant Justin Bieber was left at Number Two with his new single ‘Sorry’. The track follows his recent chart-topper ‘What Do You Mean?’ and serves as the second single from his forthcoming album ‘Purpose’.
