Transatlantic chart-topper has booked in with a vocal coach

Adele has been booked in with a singing coach after she was forced to cancel a tour due to vocal problems.

The ‘Someone Like You’ success story had to pull dates due to take place earlier this month because of problems with her voice.

Now, she has been booked in with top coach Ron Anderson in an effort to prevent it from happening again, according to The Sun. Anderson‘s other clients have included Alicia Keys, Joss Stone and Anthony Keidis.

A source told the paper: “There are commonly two approaches singers take. They are called ‘singing through your chest’ or ‘singing through your head’. Singing through your chest can increase the chance of callouses and nodules appearing on the vocal chords. But the latter approach drastically decreases the chance of those problems occurring. Adele sings more through her chest at the moment.”

But Adele might not be doing her voice any favours. The paper quotes her as saying: “I gave up smoking for two months. It was fucking grim. I stopped smoking, drinking, eating or drinking citrus, spicy foods and caffeine. I was so fucking boring. My voice is better when I wasn’t smoking. Within a week I noticed it had changed, but I’d rather my voice be a bit shit so I can have a laugh.”
