Albums Of 2008: Guy Garvey reveals band's brush with 50 Cent…
Elbow have revealed all about their forthcoming album ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’.
Having spent the last two years locked away in Salford studio Blueprint, the band have finished their fourth album and are pleased with the results.
Talking about the space the band recorded in, lead singer Guy Garvey explained: “We moved into this smaller area upstairs, just the five of us. Not knowing when the album would come out or what label it would be on gave it this backroom conspiracy feel. It was quite exciting.”
Elbow weren’t the only ones to be enticed by the recording space. “While we were recording people like Timberlake and 50 Cent were coming through town and using the studio downstairs,” Garvey explained. “We quite enjoyed being the people in the attic, the freaks!”
The follow-up to 2005’s ‘Leaders Of The Free World’ is due out in March.
