Ex-Alice In Chains bassist Mike Starr has been arrested and jailed after being found with pills he did not have a prescription for.
Starr was apprehended in Utah on Thursday (February 17) and has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He is being held on bail of $20,000 (£12,300).
According to TMZ.com, Starr was found with anti-anxiety drug Xanax and Opana, a prescription painkiller. He had six pills of each.
The bassist has struggled with drug addiction in the past and appeared on the US reality show Celebrity Rehab last year to help combat his heroin addiction. He reappeared on the show later in the year to act as a role model for new contestants.
Starr left Alice In Chains in 1993, after contributing to their 1992 album ‘Dirt’, and has taken no part in their reunion.
