Mitch is set to support Matt Goss at London's Royal Albert Hall this weekend
Amy Winehouse‘s father Mitch is set to pay tribute to her on Friday night (October 21) when he supports Matt Goss at London‘s Royal Albert Hall.
Mitch, who announced recently that he will be writing a book about his daughter, which will be published next year, will perform as the warm-up act to the former Bros member.
Speaking about the show, Matt Goss said he offered Mitch the support slot as his way of showing him compassion after his daughter’s death and to allow him to promote the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
He said: “I went online and wasn’t surprised to hear Mitch had a great voice, and so I asked him if he would like to open for me. It will be a night in our hometown, and Mitch and I have said it will be a night of the celebration of music, love and civility. It will also allow Mitch to spread the word about the Amy Winehouse Foundation which I know is his first priority.”
Goss also told Digital Spy about how much he liked Winehouse‘s ‘Back To Black’ album, adding:
When I heard about Amy passing away, I was surprised by how moved I was. I was very, very saddened because I was so moved by her records; especially the ‘Back To Black’ record, which is such an amazing record – so commercial, yet so credible. A hard combination. She just had a way with words and so genuine; I believed everything she sang.
