Rapper says she's concentrating on finishing her album instead
Angel Haze has postponed her UK tour for the second time this year, according to reports.
The rapper was originally scheduled to play a run of UK shows in February of this year but postponed the dates until May because she wanted to spend more time working on her album in the studio. “Hi lovelies, I’m sorry to have to reschedule the tour, but as you all know, I’m a perfectionist,” she said at the time. “I feel it’s only right to spend more time crafting this album before doing anything else. You guys truly deserve the best of everything with no exceptions.”
However, she has now released a new statement explaining that the rescheduled dates have now also been postponed – although, according to Gigwise, her show at London Scala on February 7 will still go ahead as planned.
As Stereoboard reports, she said: “Guys, I’ve made a tough decision to postpone my UK & European dates in May. I am totally committed to finishing this record as soon as possible & that means not leaving the studio for now!! I promise though when I do come it’ll be worth the wait! Thanks for all the support.”
In January of this year, Haze posted a YouTube message to fans in which she seemingly apologised for her part in her high-profile spat with fellow rapper Azealia Banks. The pair began feuding after Banks made a remark claiming that rappers not from New York shouldn’t try and ‘claim’ the city for their own. She then posted a Tweet which claimed Haze had threatened to ‘cut’ her because of her comments and added: “Whatever, angel haze was just waiting for an opportunity to express her Azealia Banks jealousy.”
Haze responded by writing: “There’s no jealousy….you know who’s better. You’ve always known” and also released two savage diss tracks aimed at Banks titled ‘On The Edge’ and ‘Shut The Fuck Up’, prompting Banks to respond with her own song ‘No Problem’. Click below to hear all three tracks.
