Anthrax’s Charlie Benante and his wife arrested on domestic violence charges

Metal sticksman was arrested on Friday (July 27) on charge of domestic battery in front of a child

Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante and his wife Sandra were arrested late last week on charges relating to domestic violence.

Benante, who is currently recovering from a hand injury that has forced him to miss the latest leg of Anthrax’s world tour, was arrested late on Friday night (July 27) and was taken into custody in Elkhart, Indiana after he and his wife allegedly argued in front of their young daughter Mia at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel.

The pair were released on Saturday (July 28) after spending the night in jail and will now appear in court on Friday (August 3) to answer the charges, reports local news outlet WSBT.com

Anthrax, who are currently touring alongside Slipknot and Slayer on the traveling Mayhem Festival with Shadows Fall drummer Jason Bitner standing in on drums, have yet to comment on the charges Benante is facing.

Anthrax will return to the UK in November for a joint UK tour with Motorhead. The metal veterans will play 10 UK shows together in November, starting at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on November 5 and running until November 18 when the bands play Bristol’s Colston Hall.

Anthrax released their new album ‘Worship Music’ in September of last year. It was the band’s first album for eight years and their first with singer Joey Belladonna since 1990’s ‘Persistence Of Time’.
