'Festi' is a 21-minute long film centred on Win Butler's gory 27th birthday
Directed by “Noreen Bauble,” one of the band’s previously used monikers, ‘Festi’ is a special 21-minute long film billed as “a look back at [Arcade Fire’s] 2011 summer festival tour”. The star-studded cast also includes appearances from Peter Gabriel, Slash, and Andrew Garfield.
The action takes place at Win Butler’s 27th birthday, when what should be a joyous occasion takes a spooky turn as Butler’s fate is determined by the curse of the 27 Club. The band then see themselves involved in a tale of murder, mystery, gore and even Jim Morrison’s ghost.
Look out for James Murphy playing a sad DJ, Fleet Foxes as bearded singers, Andrew Garfield as Spiderman, Peter Gabriel as a security guard and the National as creepy twins.
Last week, it was revealed that Win Butler will be scoring a new documentary about a Barack Obama impersonator. Bronx Obama follows the frontman’s Oscar-nominated score to the Spike Jonze film Her.
