The Canadian band played the punk classic in Santa Barbara
Arcade Fire have played Dead Kennedys’ ‘California Über Alles’, as the next in their long line of live cover versions.
The band performed the song on stage in Santa Barbara, California last night (August 4), reports Consequence of Sound. Click above to watch the performance.
The cover follows recent performances of Harold Faltermeyer’s ‘Axel F’ – the theme from the movie Beverly Hills Cop – at the second of two shows at the Forum in Los Angeles – as well as a rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival‘s ‘Hey Tonight’ at the Shoreline Ampitheatre in Mountain View.
Covers of songs by artists local to the city the band are playing in have been a fixture of Arcade Fire’s tour in support of 2013 album ‘Reflektor’. They’ve covered tracks by The Smiths, Echo And The Bunnymen and INXS among others.
