Band add to ever-growing repertoire of cover versions at The Forum in Inglewood
Arcade Fire covered songs by Jane’s Addiction and Guns N’ Roses during a gig in Los Angeles on Friday night.
The band’s penchant for a cover version continued at the The Forum in Inglewood, California on August 1, with abridged renditions of both ‘Been Caught Stealing’ by Jane’s Addiction and Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ preceding ‘Here Comes The Night Time’. Click above to watch footage now.
This cover follows a moment when one of the band’s fans proposed to his girlfriend during their gig at the Mountain View Shoreline Amphitheater on Thursday (July 31). The proposal came in the front row near the end of ‘Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels)’, and fan-shot footage, including frontman Win Butler talking to the couple, can be seen here.
Arcade Fire covered Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Hey Tonight’ at the same venue the previous night, as part of the tour’s tradition of covering local artists. They have also covered The Smiths, Echo And The Bunnymen and INXS among others during a lengthy world tour.
The tour finishes on August 30 with a homecoming concert at Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau.
