The Beatles legend checks out the band performing 'R U Mine' on the BBC show

Arctic Monkeys appeared alongside Paul McCartney on Later… With Jools Holland last night. Watch their performance of ‘R U Mine?’ above now.

The band appeared on an impressive line-up of artists that also included Katy B, Benjamin Clementine and Gary Clark Jr. McCartney, who recently released his latest solo album ‘New’, ended the half-hour show by performing The Beatles’ classic ‘Get Back’. As well as performing ‘R U Mine?’ Arctic Monkeys also played ‘Snap Out Of It’. A longer version of Later… will air on BBC2 this Friday (October 25).

The band also kicked off their UK tour last night (October 22) in Newcastle. Supported by The Strypes, the band played to a sellout crowd, starting off with the first single from their fifth and most recent studio album, ‘AM’, ‘Do I Wanna Know?’, before a set which mixed new tracks such as ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?’ with classic hits from their repertoire including ‘Fluorescent Adolescent’, ‘Mardy Bum’ and ‘Dancing Shoes’.
