Alex Turner's Last Shadow Puppets mate has been guesting with band on UK tour

Arctic Monkeys have admitted that they’d let Miles Kane join the band full-time if he asked.

The singer/guitarist – one half of Alex Turner‘s side-project The Last Shadow Puppets – has regularly guested live with the Sheffield band over the past few years, usually playing guitar on their set-closer ‘505’.

Speaking to NME, Turner admitted that Kane has never broached the subject of becoming the fifth full-time Monkey – but the band themselves have talked about the possibility “a few times”.

Turner declared:

Yeah we would [let him join] in a second. We’ve thought about asking him a few times.

Guitarist Jamie Cook added: “If he did ask … we probably would let him.”

Kane appeared on the B-side to Arctic Monkeys‘ summer single ‘The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala’ – he was credited as Miles Kane And The Death Ramps on ‘Little Illusion Machine (Wirral Riddler)’. He has also been guesting with the band on their current UK tour.
