Alex Turner and Dizzee Rascal reveal karaoke secrets

Find out what the Arctic Monkey and the rapper duetted on…

Dizzee Rascal and Alex Turner have spilt the beans on their mammoth karaoke sessions they held to celebrate the birthday of the Arctic Monkeys’ frontman this week (January 8).

The pair spoke as the rapper filled in for Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, who is currently on holiday.

“We went out for a bit of fun and games and Dizzee came along, we went out for a bit of karaoke, and I’ve never seen a crowd so moved,” Turner said after phoning in to talk on air to the rapper. “You should have seen it, it was chaos! What did we do mate? (Warren G track) ‘Regulate’ we did, we regulated alright!”

Dizzee added that he did special version of Turner’s own ’I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor’.

“It were incredible, it went off!” confirmed Turner. Dizzee stole the show, we might as well have gone off after that!”

The rapper also explained that the party had been an educational experience for him as he learnt a few things about Nirvana’s ’Smells Like Teen Spirit’.

“I finally saw the words to the song,” he declared. “I still don’t know remember what he was talking about now you know like, but I did see it. It was a clever song, it was nice, it was big, it was nice to see the lyrics there.”

Meanwhile Lowe has got a host of acts to present his show while he is away, with Kasabian up next, taking over on Monday (January 14).
