Arctic Monkeys win at ShockWaves NME Awards 2006

Arctic Monkeys first Number One single ’I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ is the Best Track at the ShockWaves NME Awards 2006.

The single, which shot straight to the top of the charts last year, sparking Monkey-mania across Britain, beat Babyshambles’Fuck Forever’, Franz Ferdinand’s ‘Do You Want To’, Kaiser Chiefs’I Predict A Riot’ and Oasis’The Importance Of Being Idle’ at the ceremony in London.

The award was presented to singer Alex Turner by Radio 1 host Jo Whiley.
