Arctic Monkeys attempt to stop touting

April tour due to go on sale tonight

Arctic Monkeys are to limit the number of tickets people can buy for their April tour in attempt to stop touting.

A limited number of tickets for the band’s headline dates have been sold via their website, with the rest due to go on sale at 6pm today (February 2).

Already, people on auction websites are attempting to sell tickets on for inflated prices. A statement on the band’s website says that as a result, people will be monitoring sales this evening.

The statement reads: “We are very aware of the growing problem of ticket touts acquiring tickets and re-selling them at vastly inflated cost through auction sites.

“Ticket sales to personal callers at venue box offices and other approved outlets, will be limited to two per person. Telephone and online transactions will be restricted to four tickets per person. The sales of tickets will be monitored.”

Tickets go are priced £14, expect London, which is £15.
