RIDING THE TIDE

Coldplay soar to top of album chart...

Atomic Kitten have knocked Blazin’ Squad’s ‘Crossroads’ from the top of the UK chart to score their third number 1 today (September 1) with ‘The Tide is High (get the feeling)’.

Meanwhile, Coldplay’s critically acclaimed second album ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’ soars straight to the top of the album chart.

On the single chart, the Scouse trio’s Blondie cover is one of only three new entries on the top 10. Rising R’n’B star Miss Dynamite goes in at five with ‘Dy-Na-Mit-tee’ while cock-rockers Nickelback go in at nine with ‘Too Bad’.

So Solid Crew’s Harvey charts at 24 with ‘Get Up and Move’, Tweet goes in at 35 with ‘Call Me’ and JamX & DeLeon sneak in at 40 with ‘Can U Dig It?’.

While Coldplay enter on the top spot Sugababes go in at number two with ‘Angels With Dirty Faces’ and Queens Of The Stone Age’ go in at four with ‘Songs For The Deaf’. Daniel Bedingfield misses the top 10, going in at 13 with debut album ‘Gotta Get Thru This’ and Bowling For Soup enter one place behind with ‘Drunk Enough To Dance’.
