'Outsider Music' proves popular with fans

Luke Haines has released 50 different versions of his new album.

The former Auteurs man recorded 50 takes of ‘Outsider Music’, selling each through his website Lukehaines.co.uk. All 50 versions of the album were recorded live by Haines in one continuous take, with all mistakes left unedited. One of the numbered releases is even said to feature Haines answering the door to his postman halfway through.

Despite each copy of the album being priced at £75, Haines wrote on Lukehaines.co.uk that he sold out almost instantly.

“Demand was much greater than anticipated,” he said. “Congratulations to all those who have purchased ‘Outsider Music’. Commiserations if you missed out. All fair in love, war and art.”
