Track taken from new '1991' EP
Azealia Banks has released the video for ‘Liquorice’, her first promo since last year’s ‘212’.
The track appears on her new EP, ‘1991’, and the video was directed by London based director Rankin. It is a more stylised affair compared to her last promo, and features the rapper riding horseback through a desert.
The ‘212’ star is also seen shooting a pistol in the cowgirl pastiche, and has a showdown with herself. You can view the video for ‘Liquorice’ by scrolling down the page and clicking.
Earlier this week, Banks posted a new track from her forthcoming ‘Fantasea’ mixtape. You can listen to the track, ‘Aquababe’, by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking.
Azealia Banks recently insisted that she no longer wants to be seen as a rapper. Posting on her Tumblr site, she claimed that she wanted to be perceived as a “vocalist” instead – and also revealed she was deleting her Twitter account, as it made her “too accessible”. She has, however, recently reinstated her account on the social networking site.
Last month Banks cancelled almost all of her summer festival appearances because of recording commitments. Banks is currently working on her debut LP and will play Reading and Leeds Festivals and BBC Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend. Her October UK headline tour will still go ahead as scheduled.
