Azealia Banks calls T.I. corny for defending Iggy Azalea

Banks takes to twitter to continue her beef with rapper

Azealia Banks has called Grand Hustle rapper T.I. “corny” for the way he defended his protégée, Australian emcee Iggy Azalea.

T.I. supported Azalea on DJ Drama’s Atalanta Hot 107.9 radio show following Banks’ recent Twitter tirade in which she criticized the Aussie rapper.

He told the station:

Strategically if she really cares about a freshmen cover maybe she could hope that she’ll suck enough to get shelved and then next year when the freshmen cover comes back around, maybe she’ll still be a freshman

Responding to his comments, Azealia Banks Tweeted: “Come On T.I…Niggas is not scared of u and whatever shit u got to say on some radio show.”

She went on to tweet T.I. himself, saying: “You corny for that one.”

The on-going spat between the two parties turned sour at the end of last month, when Banks hit out at Iggy Azalea for making the front cover of XXL magazine’s Freshman 2012 issue. She also questioned Iggy’s use of the term “slave-master” in her track ‘D.R.U.G.S’.

At the time, in a series of twitter posts, Banks said: “How can you endorse a white woman who called herself a ‘runaway slave master’? Sorry guys. But I’m pro black girl. I’m not anti-white girl, but I’m also not here for any1 outside of my culture trying to trivialize very serious aspects of it.”

Azealia Banks will release her debut EP, ‘212’, on March 25 and tour the UK in support of ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ in September. She plays 11 shows on the run, which begin at Manchester’s Club Academy on September and continue until October 12 when she headlines London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.
