The 'Yung Rupunxel' rapper tells the UK singer to 'shut up'
Azealia Banks has found herself embroiled in another spat with a musician on Twitter.
On Friday (May 10), Marina And The Diamonds, aka Marina Diamandis, tweeted: “All your personality goes on Twitter. IRL you have nothing left to give.” Although no name was included in the post, Azealia Banks took the tweet to be a reference to her.
Answering back, the ‘Yung Rupunxel’ rapper blasted the ‘Radioactive’ singer. She wrote: “Lol I see this one thirsty singer from the UK sub-tweet about me all the time. She better shut up before I steal her look & sound.”
Continuing her rant, she added: “B*tches think they’re clever and rude, but trust me, I’m ruder. I can’t stand a scared b*tch.”
Azealia Banks has a history with starting feuds with other artists on Twitter and was famously involved in heated spats with fellow rapper Angel Haze and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.
She also wished death upon The Stone Roses, claiming they deliberately sabotaged her set at the Future Music Festival in Australia. Both acts were on the bill and Banks claimed the Manchester band loudly soundchecked behind her stage as an act of revenge for a friend. “Big apologies on behalf of the stone roses to my fans at the festival today,” she wrote on Twitter. “My ex tour manager made a pact with the stone roses saying they’d sabotage my set because I fired him and they decided to check their equipment behind me during my set.”
Banks then fired off a series of angry messages aimed at the band, including one which read: “Fuck those old saggy white niggas stone roses. I wish them nothing but excrement and death.”
Earlier this month, the rapper unveiled the intense video for her new single ‘Yung Rapunxel’. The promo, which was directed by Jam Sutton, features owls, mouths for eyes, riot police and a mechanical bull.
