Azealia Banks to perform ‘Firestarter’ with The Prodigy

The two acts will collaborate onstage this weekend at Future Music Festival in Sydney

Azealia Banks is set to perform The Prodigy’s 1996 hit ‘Firestarter’ with the UK electronic band at the Future Music Festival this weekend in Sydney, Australia.

Banks announced news of the collaboration via her Twitter account earlier today (March 7). She wrote:

She added: “But how crazy is the prodigy thing?!?!?! That’s like the ultimate co-sign !!!!! Im Gonna be smeared all over the floor!!!!!!!!… IM MAD GASSED OFF THIS PRODIGY NEWS. FUUUUUUCCCCKKK . !!!!… THE PRODIGY IS LEGEND”.

Banks also revealed that she will be performing with DJ Paul Oakenfold at Coachella Valley Festival of Music and Arts next month in California.

Azealia Banks recently confirmed that she will appearing at Glastonbury festival this summer, ahead of the festival’s own official announcement.

The ‘212’ rapper tweeted a number of messages about upcoming festival appearances, mentioning Glastonbury by name and stating: “I am addicted to the stage!”

Banks also revealed on Twitter that she is working with Ariel Pink and that the pair have been spending time in the studio together. It’s not clear whether the collaboration will feature on her constantly delayed debut LP, ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’, although a new single ‘Yung Rapunzel’ is slated for release on March 26.

Azealia Banks has revealed two cover versions in recent weeks, sharing her versions of Baauer’s ‘Harlem Shake’ and ‘Barely Legal’ by The Strokes ahead of her debut album release.
