Rapper gives a club take on the 'Is This It' track
The rapper dropped the track, which features on the New York rockers’ debut LP ‘Is This It’ on New Zealand’s George FM (via Consequence of Sound). Produced by Lindbergh Palace, it’s a clubbier take on the original.
Banks also recently revealed on Twitter that she is working with Ariel Pink and that the pair have been spending time in the studio together. It’s not clear whether any product of the collaboration will feature on her constantly delayed debut LP ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’, although a new single ‘Yung Rapunzel’ is slated for release on March 26.
Meanwhile, The Strokes will release their fifth album ‘Comedown Machine’ on March 25. Speaking about the LP, bassist Nikolai Fraiture said: We got off tour and we had these songs, some left over and some new. We rehearsed in Electric Lady and it was working so we went with it. It was touch and go for a while but we finished up at Electric Lady (recording studio) in New York. We recorded 10 or 11 songs and there is other stuff floating around…We hashed it out all together like the good old days. It’s a legendary studio and it is not far away from us all, apart from Nick who lives in Los Angeles, but he made the trip out to record.”
