Babyshambles injured in studio

What was Pete Doherty's band doing with a double bass?

BabyshamblesDrew McConnell has been injured in the studio where his band are recording their second album.

The bassist damaged a bone at the base of his spine during one session.

McConnell attempted to stop a double bass from toppling over and fell over in the process, reports The Sun.

“I have a hairline fracture at the base of my spine,” he explained – adding that he didn’t save the instrument either. “I’m not allowed to sit down for two weeks. Joy.”

As previously reported by NME.COM, the band are working in a west London studio with Blur and Kaiser Chiefs producer Stephen Street.
