Math-rockers leave fans wanting more after memorable set

Battles played their biggest ever festival show at Oxegen in Ireland this evening (July 11).

The New York electro four-piece drew a huge crowd to the Pet Sounds Arena for their puzzle-pop set, which drew heavily from their debut album ‘Mirrored’.

Bassist Dave Konopka was the first to arrive onstage as he kicked off the set with a huge wave of feedback before the rest of the four-piece joined him for their 45-minute onslaught.

Singer Tyondai Braxton continuously whipped up the crowd during the early part of the show as they sparked mass clap-a-longs and huge cheers.

The best reception was reserved for crowd favourite and single ‘Atlas’, however.

Following the track, Braxton thanked the crowd, before adding: “It is wonderful to be back in the Dublin. Due to time constraints this will be our last song. You guys have been great as usual.”

The band finished with recent single ‘Tonto’ before they left the stage with fans chanting: “One more song, one more song.”
