The Beady Eye singer, who’d been at the game, which City won 1-0, arrived in the press room ahead of City captain Vincent Kompany and proceeded to entertain all the waiting journalists.
Gallagher, who revealed he’d been invited by Kompany to watch the game from his corporate box, took the time to big up Belgium, where the City captain is from. He said: “He [Kompany] invited me to his box. He scored a blinder, his family is mega and his sister is really cool. Nice one bro. Vive le Belgium.”
He also found time to have a dig at Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, telling the press: “He [Ferguson] must have been blinded by the lights. He must have been on the whisky too much.”
Later on, Gallagher also tweeted a picture of him shaking hands with Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona, cheekily adding: “Maradona shakes the hand of God”.
