Beady Eye frontman also wants to see the French duo without their helmets
Liam Gallagher doesn’t get the hype surrounding Daft Punk.
The Beady Eye frontman told The Sun he thinks he could write the duo’s four-week Number One single ‘Get Lucky’ in “an hour”. Gallagher said: “I’d write that in a fucking hour. I don’t know what the fuss is about, you know what I mean?”
He also took issue with the French act’s penchant for wearing robot costumes. Gallagher said:
“I am not going to have people wear disguises. Take your fucking helmet off. Let’s see what you look like sans helmet, whatever you’re called.
Beady Eye this week unveiled the video for their new single ‘Second Bite Of The Apple’ – watch it below. The track comes from the Liam Gallagher fronted band’s second album, ‘BE’, which will be released on June 10. ‘BE’ was recorded in London with producer Dave Sitek.
“Working with Sitek just opened something up in us,” Liam Gallagher said previously. “He’s without a doubt the best producer I’ve ever worked with, a real outlaw – he doesn’t give a fuck, no rules. We had a new found focus when we were writing it – we really got our heads down and got our shit together – clear heads, none of that crap from the ’90s. It feels like a really special record for us.”
Beady Eye will play live at Manchester Ritz on June 19 before heading to London for a show at Camden Centre on June 20. The short stint will then come to a close in Glasgow at the ABC on June 22. The band have lined up festival slots at V Festival, Benicassim and T In The Park this summer.
