But Lauryn Hill rules the night, scooping five awards at American music biz bash...
THE BEASTIE BOYS won two awards at the American music biz gala The Grammy‘s last night for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group for ‘Intergalactic’ and Best Alternative Music Performance for their album ‘Hello Nasty’.
Also collecting awards at the ceremony in Los Angeles were Lauryn Hill – who picked up five awards including Album Of The Year for ‘The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill’ – and Madonna, who also performed at the ceremony.
Other winners included Shania Twain, Celine Dion (for ‘My Heart Will Go On’) and Sheryl Crow (for Best Rock Album).
Urgh. Corporate Hell. Should we really moan about the Brits when things could be so much worse, like the Grammys? Or does the victory of Celine, Sheryl and Shania prove that the Americans have got better taste? Tell us what you think. Post a message on Angst
