BECK – AN IN-TENTS EXPERIENCE

The star performs a short set in a "fun little interlude"...

BECK made a surprise appearance at this year’s COACHELLA FESTIVAL.

The singer, who is currently working on a new album with producer Nigel Godrich, performed a short set in the Mojava Tent on Saturday (April 27).

Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who is working on the follow-up to ‘Midnite Vultures’ with Beck, explained to the star’s official website how the appearance came to fruition.

He said: “Z-Trip did his DJ set, and at the end, he spun ‘Where It’s At’, and stopped it after a minute. Then he said, ‘Let’s just bring Beck out’.

“Then he rocked some beats while Beck rapped and I played the bassline. It was funny. Then, we played a couple of acoustic songs, ‘Pay No Mind’, ‘Lonesome Whistle’ and ‘Asshole’, then out. It was a fun little interlude. Thankfully the beat-crazy DJ culture didn’t throw rocks and bottles at us and we were able to mellow it for a minute.”
