BAD COVER VERSIONS!

Beck and Wayne Coyne team up for a touching version of the 60s classic - and more comedy covers...

BECK and the Zero 7‘ WAYNE COYNE performed a duet of SONNY AND CHER’s ‘I GOT YOU BABE’ as part of an evening of bizarre covers at radio concert in the US.

The pair are touring together across the US, and made an inpromptu appearance at the KCRW-FM’s A Sounds Eclectic Evening at the LA Universal Amphitheatre (November 23).

Billed to appear at the fund-raiser were Norah Jones, Beth Orton, Beth Orton and DJ Shadow. However, Beck and Wayne Coyne turned up to play, belting out a cover of ‘I Got You Babe’ – changing the lyrics to “I Got You Beck”/”I Got You Wayne”.

MTV news reports that Beck also performed a four song solo set as well as his duets. The pair also performed Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings’ ‘Good Hearted Woman’. Beck then asked [/a] to the stage for a cover of Rolling Stones‘ ‘No Expectations’, Norah Jones for a cover of ‘Sleepless Nights’ and ended with a cover of ‘You’re The One That I Want’ with [a]Beth Orton’s Sia Furler.
