Gossip’s Beth Ditto launching plus-size clothing line with Jean Paul Gaultier

New T-shirt features actual adjustable corset laces

Gossip singer Beth Ditto is set to launch a plus-size clothing line in collaboration with designer Jean Paul Gaultier.

Ditto has already unveiled one item from the collection, a limited edition T-shirt featuring Gaultier’s iconic corset design from his ‘Classique’ perfume bottles. The back of the T-shirt features actual adjustable corset laces. See in the photo above.

“Jean Paul is the most generous, positive person; he truly loves women of all sizes and ages and knows how to make everyone feel gorgeous,” Ditto, who has previously appeared as a runway model for Gaultier shows, said in a statement. “I love that this shirt is funny and chic at the same time, like all the best people!”

“Big girls are beautiful and Beth is super beautiful! Long live the beauty with shapes, boobs and bottoms,” Gaultier added. “This is a new concept: a loose fit corset. And Beth fits it perfectly.”

The T-shirt is available now exclusively through Ditto’s official site. A portion of sales will go to the Girls Rock Camp Foundation.

The rest of Ditto’s collection will follow in February 2016. “This line is by us, for us, period,” the Gossip singer said of the items. “It’s my lifelong dream to get to design real clothes for big people, clothes that are comfortable and cool!”

In January, Ditto legally married her partner Kirstin Ogata 17 months after their initial wedding ceremony.

The singer and her partner walked down the aisle in July 2013 in Maui Hawaii, but were only able to officially tie the knot after same-sex marriage became legal in their home state of Oregon last May.
