Beyoncé performs medley of Stevie Wonder songs during tribute show – watch

Singer performed covers of 'Higher Ground', 'Fingertips' and 'Master Blaster (Jammin')'

Beyonce performed a medley of Stevie Wonder songs during a tribute show to the soul icon.

The show, entitled Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life – An All-Star Grammy Salute, was aired on CBS last night and featured big names performing some of Wonder’s biggest hits.

Beyonce performed ‘Higher Ground’, ‘Fingertips’, and ‘Master Blaster (Jammin’)’ alongside Ed Sheeran and Gary Clarke Jr. Janelle Monae did ‘As’ with India Arie and Jill Scott, and Pharrell covered ‘Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing’ with Ryan Tedder. Last week, a SoundCloud user mashed up Beck’s 1993 hit ‘Loser’ with Beyoncé’s ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’. The track came following an incident that occurred at the 2015 Grammy Awards over the weekend when Kanye West pretended to interrupt Beck’s Album Of The Year acceptance speech.

Speaking after the event, West had been quoted as calling Beck’s Album of the Year win “disrespectful to inspiration” and that it was “diminishing art”. However, he later claimed that he was criticising the Grammy judges rather than Beck himself.

West told reporters: “I wasn’t saying Beck, I said the Grammys. Beck knows Beyoncé should have won.” He continued: “I love Beck, but he didn’t have the album of the year.”
