Beyoncé rakes in over £1 million a gig at London’s O2 Arena

The pop superstar's six shows at the south London enormodome gross a total of £6.2 million

Beyonce grossed over £1 million a gig when she played at London’s O2 Arena recently.

The pop superstar took her ‘Mrs Carter Show World Tour’ to the East London enormodome for six shows at the end of April and beginning of May. According to box office data released by Billboard, the six-gig stint raked in a massive $9.7 million (£6.2 million).

Following the London leg, Beyoncé went on to play three dates at Manchester Arena and these shows proved almost as lucrative, grossing a total of $4.65 million (£2.97 million).

Beyonce recently returned to the UK to headline the Chime For Change concert on June 1. The charity bash, which took place at London’s Twickenham Stadium, also featured performances from Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding, Haim, Jennifer Lopez and Rita Ora.

Her ‘Mrs Carter Show World Tour’ begins its North American leg in LA on June 28 and Beyoncé will return to the UK later this summer for a pair of headline sets at V Festival on August 17 (Chelmsford) and August 18 (Staffordshire).
