Singer says she worried that fans would spot her baby bump during her concerts

Beyonce has revealed that she was scared her fans would notice she was pregnant before she officially announced the news.

The singer, who was speaking before a screening of her new Live At Roseland DVD, said she was convinced that people would spot her baby bump during her live shows.

According to Billboard, she said:

The whole time I definitely was thinking, ‘Everyone knows, everyone can see’. When you’re pregnant, it’s a little bit harder to breathe, so it was hard doing all the choreography and singing at the same time.

Since revealing that she and her husband Jay-Z were expecting a child in August, Beyonce‘s pregnancy has been surrounded by controversy.

The pop star unveiled her baby bump during the MTV Video Music Awards, telling crowds: “I want you to feel the love inside me”. However, she was subsequently attacked by commentators who believed her baby bump was a prosthetic fake. She later labelled the criticisms and conspiracy theories as “stupid, ridiculous and false”.

Recently, Jay-Z insisted that he would be an attentive father and was “100 per cent” prepared to help change nappies, while Beyonce‘s former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland accidentally revealed the sex of the couple’s baby, when she let slip that they were expecting a girl.
