Beyonce and Madonna added to ‘Hope For Haiti’ benefit shows

Coldplay and Jay-Z also set to feature

Beyonce and Madonna have been added to the line-up for the ‘Hope For Haiti’ benefit gigs tomorrow (January 22).

Organised by George Clooney, the concerts will see Madonna play at the New York show, whilst Beyonce will perform in London.

Raising money to help those who have been affected by the recent earthquakes in Haiti, the telethon aspect of the show is asking people to donate to Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF and Yele Haiti Foundation.

Broadcast on the MTV networks in North America on January 22 at 8pm (ET/PT), those in the UK can see the event on MTV UK at 1am (GMT) on January 23.

As well as donations, the music performances from the shows will be made available to purchase from iTunes, with the proceeds going to help the cause.

As previously reported Coldplay, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Mary J Blige and Shakira have already been confirmed for the fundraising concerts.

Meanwhile, U2 and Jay-Z have teamed up to produce a single to aid the effort as has Simon Cowell, who is helming a single project that is likely to feature Cheryl Cole.
