Beyonce’s ‘Dreamgirls’ wins Golden Globes

Movie wins three top awards

Beyonce’s film ’Dreamgirls has won three awards at the Golden Globes, which took place yesterday (January 15) in Beverly Hill in California.

The film won Best Musical or Comedy, Best Supporting Actor for Eddie Murphy and Best Supporting Actress for Jennifer Hudson.

During her acceptance speech Hudson said: “Oh, my God. Thank you so much. Wow. I have always dreamed but never, ever this big.”

The film is based on a Broadway play, and chronicles the rise of a fictional trio of women singers resembling the Supremes during the early 1960s.

’Dreamgirls’ is expected to be challenging for several for Oscars, the nominations for which are set to be announced on January 23. The Oscar ceremony takes place on February 25.
