Biffy Clyro behind Matt Cardle in Christmas Number One battle

Band's 'Many Of Horror' set to chart behind 'The X Factor' winner

Biffy Clyro‘s original version of ‘Many Of Horror’ looks set to chart behind The X Factor winner Matt Cardle‘s cover in the race for the UK Christmas Number One single.

Cardle has the Number One position in the official chart midweek figures, released today (December 15), with his version of ‘Many Of Horror’, re-named ‘When We Collide’. Biffy Clyro‘s original is the midweek Number Seven.

A Facebook campaign has been set up with the aim of getting the Scottish rockers to the top spot ahead of the singer.

There are a number of other X Factor-baiting singles set to enter the chart too. The Trashmen‘s ‘Surfin’ Bird’ is at Number Three, while John Cage‘s “silent single” ‘4:33’ is at Number 18. Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor is at the midweek Number 34 with ‘X-M@$’.

In the UK albums chart Michael Jackson‘s posthumous album ‘Michael’ is at the midweek Number Three, with Take That‘s ‘Progress’ on the top spot.
