The Scots rockers go back to their roots at the Barfly...
Biffy Clyro returned to their roots last night (November 23) for a tiny LONDON show.
Even though Scotland’s alt.rock champions will play the vastly bigger Astoria when they next tour the UK in February, they accepted radio station XFM’s invitation to headline one of their X-Posure sessions at the 200-capacity Camden Barfly.
Fans packed into the club to witness an incendiary hour-long set that began with ‘57’ and ‘Kill The Old, Torture Their Young’, two tracks from their 2002 debut ‘Blackened Sky’.
The crowd then screamed along to almost every word of a set that concentrated on tracks from current third album ’Infinity Land’. As well as singles ‘Glitter And Trauma’, ‘My Recovery Injection’ and ‘There’s No Such Thing As A Jaggy Snake’, they played ‘Strung To Your Ribcage’, ‘The Atrocity’ and ‘The Kids From Kibble And The Fist Of Light’. The set climaxed with ’Bodies In Flight’.
The club was so sweaty that singer/guitarist Simon Neil was topless before the band even took the stage. The army of fans, meanwhile, replaced their traditional “Mon the Biffy” chant with a cry of “All the way down!” in between every single song.
Biffy Clyro now embark on an Irish tour, dates as follows:
Limerick Dolans (December 1)
Cork An Cruiscin Lan (2)
Dublin Whelans (3)
Belfast Limelight (4)
Derry Nerve Centre (5)
The band then return for their biggest UK tour to date in February, calling at:

Norwich UEA (19)
Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall (20)
Leeds Metropolitan University (22)
