Biffy Clyro hope to bring back ‘lost’ fans with new album

Scottish trio aim to please older fans with follow-up to 'Only Revolutions'

Biffy Clyro are hoping they can re-connect with their “lost” fans with the release of their sixth album.

The Scottish rock trio will release their double LP, titled ‘The Land At The End Of Our Toes’ and ‘The Sand At The Core Of Our Bones’, later this year and have revealed that the albums contain songs that will impress fans of their debut record, ‘Blackened Sky’.

Biffy Clyro drummer Ben Johnston told NME: “We never think of any target audience when making albums. We’ve always tried to please ourselves and then hope for the best. When you’re younger you want bands to be just your band. When these bands get more well-known and bigger it’s common to just fade away from them.”

He added:

It’s sad…because we don’t want to lose any fans. Hopefully we can get those lost fans back with this album.

The band have spent the last year working on the album and have recorded it in Los Angeles. It is due for release later this summer and is the follow-up to their 2009 album ‘Only Revolutions’.

Biffy Clyro will debut tracks from ‘The Land At The End Of Our Toes’ and ‘The Sand At The Core Of Our Bones’ at a series of summer festivals, including Download and Rockness.
