Biffy Clyro hail ‘X Factor”s Matt Cardle for boosting their fanbase

Scottish rockers also reveal new album plans

Biffy Clyro have hailed The X Factor winner Matt Cardle for boosting their success after he covered their 2010 hit single ‘Many Of Horror’.

The Scottish trio claim that his take on the track, which was renamed ‘When We Collide’, has attracted a lot more fans to their own shows. “We’ve definitely had a lot more people checking us out since he covered our song,” said frontman Simon Neil. “But those people who turn up at shows for the first time get the fright of their lives when they realise we’re a full-on rock band.”

Neil added: “He likes good music, he likes real bands and he liked our song, so I’ve nothing but respect for him.”

The band also revealed that they’ve already got plenty of material in the bag for their next album. “We’ve got 20 new songs ready to go but we’ve been touring so hard, we need a few weeks off before recording,” Neil told the Daily Star. “But I’ve been getting itchy feet wanting to play new songs.”
