Singer/songwriter to appear in 'Pressure Drop' this spring

Billy Bragg is set to act and play music in a forthcoming London play, it has been revealed.

The singer/songwriter has signed up to appear in Pressure Drop at the UK capital’s Wellcome Collection venue from April 19 to May 12, reports BBC News. The play is being directed by Mick Gordon.

Bragg has written new music to be performed in the show, billed as “part play, part gig, part art installation”. The show examines British identity and examines a white working class community through three different generational viewpoints.

“I have never done anything like this before, mixing songs with theatre is a totally new experience for me,” said Bragg.

Billy Bragg recently threatened to withhold his tax payments unless the government stops banks using taxpayers’ money to pay their employees big bonuses.
