"Derogatory press clippings of Shania Twain", anyone?
A list of items banned from a recent Foo Fighters show in New Zealand has been revealed – and it’s brilliantly bizarre.
As fans filtered into Auckland’s Mount Smart stadium on Saturday night, they were greeted with a list of prohibited items that included the usual suspects – glass bottles, prepared food, laser pens and umbrellas.
But there was also some pretty unusual inclusions too – featuring Shania Twain and US TV host Ryan Seacrest.
“Unflattering photos of Ryan Seacrest” was one of the list’s least likely items, alongside “derogatory press clippings of Shania Twain”.
The list also noted a ban on “homemade nut milks” and any pencil that isn’t a number two pencil”.
The presumably tongue-in-cheek list comes as the Foos tour New Zealand after previously playing shows in Australia – including a stop off in Brisbane last week where Dave Grohl invited one lucky lookalike fan on stage to perform – before cooling him down by pouring water over him.
“Come on kid, get on up here right now,” said Grohl as he invited 22-year-old Aussie Joey McClennan to play Monkey Wrench.
“Are you sure you can play it?” asked Grohl. “The last thing you want to do is come up here and shit the bed in front of 40,000 people in your home town.”
