Blink-182: ‘We’re almost finished recording our new album’

Mark Hoppus says record will be done by July 31

Blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus has said the band are almost finished recording their sixth studio album.

The trio, who shelved the planned UK arena tour and festival appearances that were due to take place this month in order to complete work on the album, are due to begin a US tour with My Chemical Romance next month.

Writing on his Facebook page Facebook.com/markhoppus, the singer/bassist wrote: “I’m very excited. We’re getting to the point of the album where we talk about mixers and finishing up the songs.”

He continued: “We deliver the album to the label on July 31, so it will be coming out during the tour. The most recent batch of songs are some of the best of the entire record. Very happy it’s all coming together.”

Blink-182 have said that they will premiering a good deal of new material on their forthcoming live shows, as they postponed their UK tour out of reluctance to tour without a finished new album.

The new LP will be their first since their 2003 self titled album.
