Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge co-writing comic book

The 'Poet' series is part of the concept for Angels & Airwaves' next LP

Blink-182‘s Tom DeLonge is currently co-writing a comic book as part of a project with his other band, Angels & Airwaves.

DeLonge is contributing to the three-part Poet series with writer Ben Kull and artist Djet Stéphane, reports Digital Spy. The comics will act as a prequel to the Poet Anderson: The Dream Walker animated short, for which you can see a trailer below. The film will come out in December alongside Angels & Airwaves’ accompanying album, ‘The Dream Walker’. Poet is set for release in Spring 2015.

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Blink-182 are set to hit the studio to begin work on a new album. After headlining Reading & Leeds in the summer, the band will record an LP within the “next few weeks”. The record in question will be the band’s seventh studio effort, following on from 2011’s ‘Neighborhoods’. It’ll be the group’s first full-length since parting with long-term label Interscope.

Speaking to Wondering Sound, Tom DeLonge said Blink have their “very first big writing session” coming up, where they’ll “get together and lay down our first tracks” for the release. DeLonge added that they hope to release the album “by summer… but we will see”.
